RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Ophthalmology

Jess comes from the Midlands and lives only a few miles away from our Swadlincote HQ. Being born near Whipsnade Zoo must have had an impact on her as she followed her early love of animals and a passion for science by studying Veterinary Medicine at Nottingham University.

Graduating in 2013 Jess worked has worked in multiple first opinion small animal practices across the Midlands. During her practice she realised an interest that would set a course for the rest of her career – eyes! Furthering her interest in all things eyes, Jess gained a certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2017 before joining Park Vets in Leicester as part of the team of three referral vets. Her work was recognised by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2019 when she was made an Advanced Practitioner in the field of Ophthalmology.

Recognising how Bright Side Vets had grown as an independent first opinion in such a short time, Jess wanted to support the introduction of a referral service to a business that shared many of her own values.

During her free time Jess is a keen hockey player, loves good food (and wine) and when time allows likes to travel, having visited many places such as South Africa for a safari during her Honeymoon.
