Patch – Cranial cruciate ligament rupture managed by Closing Wedge Osteotomy (CWO)
Patch is an 11-year-old male Jack Russell terrier who presented with a right hindlimb lameness. A diagnosis of right Cranial cruciate ligament rupture was made after examination under general anaesthesia confirmed a positive cranial drawer test. Radiographic changes consistent with this condition were also noted. A CWO was performed using a size 2.4 TPLO plate successfully reducing the steep Tibial plateau angle previously measured on the pre-planning radiographs as 29 degrees. Patch is doing very well after completing his exercise and rehabilitation program run by our nursing team.
