“Tank”- Cranial cruciate ligament rupture managed by Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA)
Tank is a 38kg 6-year-old neutered male who presented with a persistent chronic left hindlimb lameness. A diagnosis of left Cranial cruciate ligament rupture was made after examination under general anaesthesia confirmed a positive cranial drawer test. Radiographic changes consistent with this condition were also noted. A TTA surgery was performed using a size 9 TTA Rapid titanium cage. Platelet regeneration therapy was undertaken (V-PET) at the 6-week post-operative radiographic follow-up. The right stifle was treated prophylactically due to the increased risk of cruciate disease developing in the opposite limb. Tank is currently doing very well but may undertake another session of V-pet in the future.
