A bit more about our Nurse Charlotte

By: Charlotte

Hi there, my name is Charlotte and I joined the Bright Side Crew in February 2018 as an RVN (Registered Veterinary Nurse). I graduated from Bottle Green Training Limited in August 2017 where I completed my Diploma. Both before and during my training I worked at a Small “Mixed” Practice (Small Animal and Equine). Here I developed my skills and knowledge as a veterinary nurse.

I have a particular interest in Surgical Nursing and Diagnostic Imaging and hope to undertake my Advanced Nursing Diploma in these two fields. This would allow me to expand and progress my Schedule 3 skills. A Schedule 3 procedure is a minor operation (such as a wound stitch-up) that nurses are allowed to do under veterinary guidance. I really enjoy this area of work and find it extremely rewarding!

I am also looking at working towards a certificate in Feline Behaviour in the future. This will allow me to support our head vet and ‘Cat Advocate‘ Kelly, and the rest of the Bright Side crew in maintaining our Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic Award, of which I’m very proud! I also have a keen interest in physiotherapy. I am a clinical coach for the Bright Side Team, meaning I help to train up our future veterinary nurses.

At home I have 5 pets that keep me on my toes. I have a very opinionated Shih Tzu and a Westie who likes the sound of her own voice! Also a Poodle cross who thinks she’s human!  My other 2 pets are a pair Giant Sulcatta Tortoises.
In my spare time you can usually find me baking, horse riding, or with my nose stuck in a book. I often go walking with my motley crew around the peaks and enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
That’s pretty much me! So I’ll say bye for now and look forward to seeing you and your pets at Bright Side.
