Hi, my name is Nikki. I graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2015 after completing a Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing. I started my career in a small animal practice where after a couple of months I decided to take on a new challenge and became a clinical coach. I have also completed an advanced anaesthesia course to better my knowledge monitoring patient anaesthetics. As my career progressed, I found an interest in emergency and critical care and decided to do some locum work for Vets Now (an out of hours emergency clinic) where I further developed my knowledge and skills on emergency cases. I have also done work in a mixed animal practice which gave me a small amount of experience in dealing with equine patients.
Currently, I have returned to working with only small animals and I am looking to progress my skills in schedule 3 procedures (a technical term that describes procedures that Registered Vet Nurses can undertake with the supervision of a vet, things like scale and polishes or stitch-ups). As well as this, I am also considering doing the Advanced Nursing Diploma in the future.
At home, I live with my partner Daniel but sadly no furry friends at the moment as we are in rented accommodation. So I get my fix of animal love at Bright Side. When I am not working I am an fitness fanatic, going to the gym as often as I can as well as this I enjoy kick boxing, which often surprises people!
I look forward to meeting you in consults or if you have a fur baby that needs to lose a little weight then come along to one our weight clinics that I look after!
